Man found guilty of stabbing wife in front of their 2 young daughters

A man was convicted Friday of stabbing his wife to death in front of their two young children, the Kern County District Attorney’s Office announced.

It said in a news release Victor Farias Jr. was found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Yolanda Rojo and of inflicting mental-suffering child abuse on his daughters, ages 6 and 4.

The release said Bakersfield police dispatched to the scene at 10 p.m. March 25 in the 7000 block of College Avenue in Bakersfield found Rojo covered in blood and suffering from 69 sharp force injuries on her head, neck and back and 23 stab wounds, along with numerous defensive wounds, on her hands and arms.
