Christian County is moving ahead with plans to find a new owner for one of downtown Hopkinsville’s oldest buildings, more than a year after the county considered tearing it down.
Christian County Judge-Executive Jerry Gilliam says Community Development Services has prepared a request for proposals for the building at 521 Weber Street, and the county is ready to solicit offers from developers interested in restoring it.
Fiscal Court approved the $50,000 minimum and other financial requirements in July. The effort to find a private developer marks a significant change from where the county stood in July of last year…
