SAN DIEGO (KUSI/FOX 5) — A handful of power outages hit Monday afternoon throughout San Diego County, leaving at least 2,000 SDG&E customers without power, according to the company’s Outage Map.
Old Town/Mission Hills/ Hillcrest
A power outage in the Mission Hills area began around 6:09 p.m. and is affecting a reported 1,413 SDG&E customers. The cause of the outage is unknown and under investigation, with power expected to be restored around 8 p.m. Monday, according to SDG&E.
Kensington/ Talmadge/ West State College
An outage in the Kensington area has been ongoing since around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, leaving 777 SDG&E customers without power. According to SDG&E, severe weather caused the unplanned outage, and power is expected to be restored around 8 p.m.
Encanto/Emerald Hills/Paradise Hills
A power outage near Encanto began around 5:45 p.m. and power is expected to be restored around 10:30 p.m., according to SDG&E. The cause of the outage is related to severe weather. About 642 customers in the area are currently affected.
