A routine stop for a school bus turned into a very close call for a high school student. As caught on a home surveillance system, a teen in New York was about to board a school bus outside of his home when it was suddenly struck from behind by a truck going at full speed. The student rushed back to his porch where his father quickly embraced him before he checked on all the passengers involved in the accident.

Back on May 7 at around 7:15 a.m., 17-year-old high school junior Jeremiah Rutkowski came within a few feet from boarding a school bus when it is slammed by a black pickup truck, as reported by local outlet WKTV that covers Madison County in New York.
Footage taken from a camera from the porch of the student’s home shows Jeremiah with his headphones on as he walks toward the yellow school bus. He takes a few several steps up the stairs close to the road when he suddenly freezes. Without braking, a pickup truck drives straight into the back of the bus with such an impact that it pushes the bus forward a full length and scatters debris across the street and the front lawn of the home.
Jeremiah jumped back and quickly returned to the porch. “I just figured like if that thing’s not going to stop,” he recalled, “it’s either going to hit the bus and something’s coming flying at me or the entire truck is coming flying at me.”…
