Nearly 1,000-acre development near Sugar Land moves forward with 2,300 new homes

Plans for about 2,300 new homes are moving forward in a nearly 1,000-acre development near Sugar Land, with the city preparing to provide water, wastewater and emergency services to the growing community.

Ryehill and Del Webb at Sugar Land are planned across 958 acres south of FM 2759. The Sugar Land Planning and Zoning Commission advanced another piece of the development Sept. 24, unanimously approving the final plat for a 114-home section of Ryehill.

The developments are in Sugar Land’s extraterritorial jurisdiction, outside the city limits. Sugar Land’s development agreement for the property is with Pulte Homes of Texas, according to the city…
