4th teen certified as adult in deadly shooting of rideshare driver

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -A fourth teenager has been charged in connection with the deadly January shooting of Shannon O’Brien.

Damien Stevens, 18, is being charged with one count of second-degree murder, felony murder, two counts of armed criminal action and one count of first-degree assault.

Court records state that on Jan. 30, Stevens, along with Lamarkus Van, 17 and Noah Johnson, 18, and others had a conflict with a rival group named VonniGang.

VonniGang consisted of Cortez Alexander and Kamarionne Carter, both 17, and another person.

Through a consented phone search, it was found that Alexander and Carter agreed to meet with Johnson to resolve their issues with a shootout.

When both parties arrived at the scene, the shooting started with O’Brien, getting hit by gunfire. A gun with distinctive modifications was found at the scene. Stevens later posted a photo of himself on Instagram with a gun that resembled the gun found. Video and ride-share records show Stevens, along with Van, leaving the scene, court records state…
