Albany community recalls moments after shooting kills 15-year-old on Hudson Ave

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Albany police continued to investigate a homicide Monday on Hudson Avenue, where a 15-year-old boy was killed and three teenagers were injured early Sunday morning. University at Albany students and neighbors were among the many people that witnessed the large gatherings that occurred over the weekend, leading up to this violence.

Police responded to the shooting at 2:40 a.m. Sunday at the end of Hudson Avenue near Partridge Street. Some University at Albany students who live right there, shared that this past weekend was homecoming weekend, which they said has a history of getting rowdy. That’s why UAlbany senior Diamond Robinson-Wilson decided to stay home on Saturday night.

“I feel like I’ve had a couple of close interactions during previous homecomings, so it’s something that you know, might possibly happen, which is why I decided to stay inside this year,” said Robinson-Wilson.
