Chowderfest offers the chance for residents and visitors to eat their way through the district, as local restaurants and food vendors serve up their best chowders right from their business. The event showcases dozens of unique recipes from local chefs, ranging from New England clam chowder, to creative offerings like cheeseburger, jambalaya and birria-inspired bowls.
“Chowderfest is one of those great Troy traditions that brings our community together in a fun and delicious way,” said Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello. “With so many of our incredible local restaurants participating, there is no better way to spend a fall Sunday than walking through Downtown Troy, supporting our small businesses and tasting some truly creative chowders. I encourage everyone to come hungry, bring the family and enjoy everything Chowderfest has to offer!”

Attendees can taste their way around downtown and cast a vote for their favorite chowder in the People’s Choice competition. 4 oz samples of the delicious varieties of chowder are available to purchase for $2 from participating locations.
Popular chowders often run out, so live updates will be shared when vendors sell out for guests to plan their tasting route accordingly. The festival will also feature family-friendly entertainment and cozy spots to gather along the way.

“One of the best parts of Chowderfest is seeing how much personality our businesses bring to it,” said Olivia Clemente, executive director of Downtown Troy BID. “Everyone approaches it a little differently, and there’s always that friendly competition over who will have the crowd favorite. People come with their friends and families, map out which chowders they have to try and make an afternoon of it. It’s become a fall tradition that people genuinely look forward to every year, and that’s what makes it such a fun day in Downtown Troy.”…
