SR-163 to I-8 ramp reopens after fatal collision involving pedestrian, police say

SAN DIEGO (KUSI/ FOX 5) — The on-ramp connector from State Route 163 to Interstate 8 near Mission Valley reopened Monday evening following a fatal collision reportedly involving a pedestrian, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At around 8:53 p.m. San Diego Caltrans posted on its social media that all lanes of the ramp were blocked due to police activity.

At around 9:50 p.m., CHP on the scene confirmed to FOX 5/KUSI that a driver reportedly fatally struck a pedestrian crossing the freeway near the underpass. CHP says the driver remained on the scene and called 911…
