Local filmmaker’s new movie ‘a love letter’ to Newark, Fair Hill, Landenberg

When Chris Malinowski was writing his newest film, he couldn’t think of a better place for it to be set than right here in his hometown.

“My backyard is Landenberg, Fair Hill, and Newark – all the places that I love and I frequent – and that’s why I wrote it,” said Malinowski, who lives in Fair Hill, Md., near where the three states meet. “This film is more or less kind of a dark drama and a love letter to Landenberg, Newark, and Fair Hill because it’s where I spend most of my time.”

“Daniel Le Flou” was shot over 15 days this summer at Peach Blossom Eatery, Pinang Asian Fusion Restaurant, the University of Delaware and Delaware Technical Community College as well as on Main Street in Newark; Elkton Music Hall and Fair Hill Natural Resources Management Area in Maryland; and Old Stone Cider, Acadian Wine Company and White Clay Creek Preserve in Pennsylvania…
