MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) — A Milwaukee airport is celebrating an astounding milestone, with today, October 5, marking its 100th anniversary.
Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE) has officially spent a century helping travelers around the world reach their destinations, according to a press release.

The airport was established on October 5, 1926, after Milwaukee County bought and renamed a Hamilton Airport, which gradually grew into the major transportation hub it is today.
