Woman allegedly slams into east Phoenix home, tries to flee with 2 kids

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A quiet night in an east Phoenix neighborhood took a disturbing turn after a suspected drunk driver slammed into a home and tried to escape with two children, police say.

Just before midnight on Monday, officers received a report that a car crashed into a home near 40th and Fillmore streets, just south of the Loop 202 Red Mountain. As officers were en route to the scene, the 911 caller told investigators that the driver was attempting to run away with two children.

Officers were able to detain the woman and rescue both children. All three were hospitalized, with the children sustaining minor injuries…
