MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — An incident report from the Myrtle Beach Police Department is giving new details about a fiery crash that left a 37-year-old dead late last month.
Serhii Babak of Myrtle Beach died in the crash, which happened along Highway 17 Bypass near Pine Island Road on Sept. 28, Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said. Two vehicles caught fire following the collision, but firefighters were able to bring the flames under control.
A Ford F-150 was traveling northbound on Highway 17 when it crossed the center median into the southbound lanes and crashed into Babak’s Chevy Traverse, the report shows. The impact was strong enough to stop both vehicles, causing a third vehicle — a Chevy Cruze — to hit the Traverse from behind…
