Truck driver who hit Massachusetts railroad bridge was following GPS, police say

Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Transit Police said that a truck driver’s reliance on GPS contributed to a collision with a low railroad bridge over the weekend.

At 8:37 a.m. on October 3, 2026, police responded to Arch Street in Westborough, Massachusetts, for a reported crash.

Upon arrival, officers learned that a 50-year-old Utah-based truck driver “struck an MBTA bridge with a tractor trailer.”
