Sheinelle Jones’s older son got to hear a story about his late father for the first time during a recent — and very special — visit to his mom’s alma mater.
During the Monday, Oct. 5 episode of Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, Jones, 48, told co-host Jenna Bush Hager that she had one of the “best days” ever while receiving an honor at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. During her award speech, she said her son Kayin, 17, got to hear the story of her engagement to his father, the late Uche Ojeh, for the very first time.
On Friday, Oct. 2, the Alumnae of Northwestern University presented Jones, a 2000 graduate, with the 2026 Distinguished Alumnae Award, an annual award honoring women graduates of the school who have “brought extraordinary honor and distinction” to the school through their work…
