First Alert Forecast: Warm and breezy Wednesday, some late-weekend rain

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Temperatures will be on the rise Wednesday, with highs by midday close to 80º! The trade off? Windier conditions. Southwest wind speeds will be sustained at 5-15 mph, occasionally gusting to 20 or 25 mph. This is due to an area of low pressure racing across eastern Canada – it’s close enough to increase the wind, but not enough to cool us down 🙂

Thursday will be a cooler day with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s, but we’ll find our way near 80º again by Saturday.

We’re still expecting the remnants of tropical moisture in the Gulf to move through the Ohio Valley late in the weekend, bringing some rain to our area. This system is likely to become a Category 2 Hurricane (Isaias) by the end of the week, though by the time it makes it to us we’ll be dealing with a far weaker storm…
