Man Stabbed and Run Over Dies After Lakeshore Drive Attack in His Own Car

A man died at a hospital after he was stabbed multiple times while sitting inside his vehicle on Lakeshore Drive, then struck by the suspect’s car as he tried to flee, according to police. The attack happened on Monday along the lakefront thoroughfare, and investigators have released no further details about what led up to it or who is responsible.

Victim Struck While Trying to Escape

According to WDSU, the victim managed to get out of his vehicle after being stabbed, but the suspect then drove a vehicle that struck him as he attempted to get away. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died. The New Orleans Police Department is investigating the case, and officers have not released the victim’s identity, a description of the suspect, or any information about what sparked the violence.

The station reports it will continue to provide updates as the investigation develops. For now, the basic sequence — a stabbing while the victim sat in his vehicle, followed by a vehicle strike as he tried to flee — is the only detail NOPD has confirmed publicly.
