Housing on County Line OK’d, Broken Arrow resident’s court challenge still alive

In a unanimous vote, the Broken Arrow City Council approved the final plat for a 49-arcre housing development near County Line Road and New Orleans Street, although a request for a restraining order to suspend the project is still alive in court.

The Council voted 5-0 to greenlight County Line Crossing, which calls for 166 single-family homes along the west side of County Line Road, where the Broken Arrow FFA farm was located. The developer is Calara Land Group, a subsidiary of housing construction giant Lennar Corp. Calara bought the property from PSO last year for $2.2 million.

More than two-dozen residents who live north of the project have complained about the clearing of mature trees on the property. Concerned the project would affect the bucolic views from their homes, they asked the city to demand Calara leave greenbelt between their project and the neighbors…
