SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane County commissioners discussed two closely watched topics at their legislative meeting Tuesday: a possible extension of the county’s data center moratorium and a proposed public safety tax.
A moratorium or temporary pause on new data centers was put into place for Spokane County earlier this year. Until it is up, no permits for data centers are to be accepted or approved on county land. The moratorium was set to expire December 15, but, commissioners prepared to consider extending it through June 1 of next year.
