NORTH SHELBY – After almost eight years after its closure in Birmingham, The Melting Pot is making its return to the Lee Branch shopping center located off of Highway 280. The spot is known for its elevated dining experience centered around fondue, offering four courses highlighting the interactive melted cheese attraction.
The return of the restaurant is expected for winter 2026, with the exact date yet to be announced. The reopening will also bring the spot a new, fresh feel. A more modern design and a lively bar area have been announced by the restaurant as part of the plans to rebrand. A new approach to its lunch menu and weekend hours are also anticipated to bring in a new crowd to the once familiar spot.
The restaurant serves multiple different dishes that guests can enjoy for date nights, special occasions and family nights out. During the first course, guests can order an array of different types of fondue and food items compatible with the cheesy main event. These items include fresh-baked artisan breads, broccoli, carrots, bell peppers, apples and more. The second and third courses feature a choice of a salad and various different entrees. After the main courses, restaurant-goers can enjoy deciding between six different types of decadent chocolate dessert fondue.
