SCHOOLCRAFT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A West Michigan animal rescue is in jeopardy of shutting down.
In March, Schoolcraft Township Officials ordered to have Forgotten Souls and Rescue Rehab shut down – saying the rescue that operates out of a home off Portage Road is in violation of their zoning ordinance.

However, Rescue Owner Amanda Schepeler is fighting to stay open. According to Schepeler, there are not enough animal rescues in Michigan.
“In this side of the state, there’s a huge hole, even with us being here,” she said. “We take in hundreds of animals every year and release them. There’s really nowhere else for especially raccoons to go in the area.”…
