When Auburn coach Butch Thompson hired Georgia hitting coach Nick Ammirati to handle the same role for the Tigers, one of the things he was looking for was to bring a new mentality to the plate. Using more analytics and also focusing more on getting launch angles and hitting the ball out of the park, it was going to be a big change for Auburn’s hitters.
