CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – A North Liberty man has been sentenced to five years in prison for an Iowa City shooting last August.
Nathaniel Washington, 18, was originally charged with attempted murder. Court documents filed last week show he was sentenced to lesser charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Assault Causing Injury. He pleaded guilty to the charges in July.
The shooting happened just before 3 a.m. on August 3, 2025, in the 600 block of East Court Street. Four people suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds, according to the Iowa City police. Washington was arrested three days later…
