As any native knows, driving in Houston is a full contact sport. The most efficient way to get to your destination safely is to assume every other person on the road wants to kill you and act accordingly. But with so many people driving with that mindset, you’re bound to find some places are more dangerous than others.
A new report from the Patel Law Firm in Texas has highlighted intersections across the state with the most crashes. Using crash data from the Texas Department of Transportation, the firm analyzed car collisions across 11 Texas cities. The firm’s analysis found hotspots in every city, with Houston’s most dangerous intersection for crashes being where Interstate 69 and Beltway 8 meet. Notably, TxDOT crash data typically does not include residential streets or thoroughfares managed by city or county roads crews.
The Patel Law Firm’s report found that so far in 2026, there were 95 crashes at 69 and Beltway 8. That intersection, one of Houston’s busiest highway interchanges, was only slightly ahead of two other busy highway interchanges: 69 and Interstate 610 saw 94 crashes, and Interstate 45 and 610 had 93 in 2026…
