NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Wind speeds have increased to 45 mph inside of Isaias. Hurricane strength will be reached by Thursday. Category 2 strength is likely ahead of interacting with the coastline on Friday night.
This is a positive shift for SE LA. A storm that tracks further east would allow for most of our impacts to lessen. We are still not in the clear, but timing and placement from this latest update are leaning in our favor.
Still, we need to monitor surge and wind, especially for our SE facing coastal area.
