ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A hearing in the case against Crystal Hazlitt was continued for two weeks Wednesday after she appeared by phone, objected to her attorney and repeatedly interrupted the court.
Hazlitt, 43, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her mother, Bonnie Wright, 67, who was found dead Jan. 28 in a Mountain View home, Anchorage police said. Police had issued a missing-person alert for Wright, Hazlitt and two juveniles; the children were found with Hazlitt, and detectives later found Wright’s body while searching the North Park Street residence.
The two juveniles were Wright’s youngest grandchildren, ages 4 and 5, whom she had taken custody of, her daughter Anna Marie Bell told Alaska’s News Source in its January story about Wright.
