Historic Downtown Columbus building sold for $8.9 million

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The Mercantile building in Downtown Columbus has been sold to a Washington, D.C.-based investment firm for $8.9 million, marking the company’s first acquisition in central Ohio.

Rampart Capital purchased the apartment building at 309 S. Fourth St. and the nearby lots used for tenant parking. Franklin County property records show the sale at $8.4 million. Rampart founder Michael Cournoyer told NBC4 that the entire transaction totaled $8.9 million, including $500,000 for the parking parcels.
