ALACHUA, Fla. – The developer of Tara April, a proposed commercial development on a 58-acre property in the city of Alachua, has sued the City for $10 million plus application expenses, asserting that the City’s failure to schedule an Infrastructure Plan hearing for more than four years has resulted in lost value of the commercial area of the property.
The lawsuit from Tara Forest, LLC, names the City of Alachua and Alachua’s Director of Planning and Community Development Bryan Thomas as plaintiffs. Tara Forest’s attorney Jeff Childers separately sent a demand letter to the City of Alachua in July, requesting public records related to the City’s consideraton of several Tara Forest developments…
