INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating a deadly east side shooting.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, an officer who was responding to a different incident heard shots fired in the area of East 21st Street and Ritter Avenue around midnight.
The officer located a man lying in a parking lot with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. He later died from his injuries. The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified him as 53-year-old Jason Alexander Payton…
