Dry end to the work week before tropical moisture arrives

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Temperatures Thursday morning will be a little cooler for some spots, with lows starting in the low to mid 50s inland. Beaches will stay a bit milder, with temperatures holding in the lower 60s. Despite the cool start, we’ll have another pleasant day with near-normal temperatures. Highs will reach the upper 70s along the coast and the lower 80s inland.

We’ll continue to see some lingering cloud cover near the coast, similar to what we’ve experienced for much of this week. However, bigger changes arrive Friday. Humidity will begin increasing as a large surge of tropical moisture moves toward the Carolinas ahead of the weekend.

Rain chances on Friday are only around 20%, with mainly a few light showers possible. The heavier rain, along with the potential for thunderstorms, arrives Saturday. Current guidance suggests landfall from Hurricane Isaias could occur sometime between midnight and 6 a.m. Saturday along the Gulf Coast, depending on whether the GFS or European model verifies…
