LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — The Lafayette Housing Authority is coordinating with federal officials on relocation plans for residents of Himbola Manor Apartments. Executive Director Latweeta Smyers is advising tenants to remain in their units and continue paying rent as the initial phase of the process begins.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is collaborating with a specialized relocation team prior to visiting the property. Federal administrators have compiled a preliminary ledger of 77 names to assist eligible families in acquiring tenant protection vouchers.
