ROCK CITY, Ill. — A 21-year-old Monroe man was arrested in Illinois late Monday night after authorities said he began an approximately 11-mile high speed pursuit.
Shortly before 10:30 p.m., a Stephenson County sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a vehicle traveling on Rock City Road near Rock City, Ill., after noticing it did not have a visible registration plate.
The driver, later identified as Jonathan Alpizar, allegedly failed to stop and drove away. The vehicle traveled about 11 miles through rural parts of the county and reached speeds exceeding 100 mph, the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office said.
