New trail segment in Lehigh Valley will connect to 1 of region’s biggest high schools

The Jordan Creek Greenway Trail is getting more state money for its next stretch in South Whitehall Township.

On Wednesday, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources announced $500,000 for the segment, state Rep. Mike Schlossberg, D-Lehigh, said in a news release.

The new section will be about a mile of 10-foot-wide paved trail for shared use. It will run from the Lapp Road parking lot at Covered Bridge Park to the intersection of Cedar Crest Boulevard and the entrance road to Parkland High School.
