Fort Wayne man takes plea deal in deadly May shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – A Fort Wayne man has taken a plea deal in a shooting that left a 49-year-old man dead back in May.

Ya Sin pleaded guilty to murder, a Level 1 felony, with a maximum sentence of 52 years. Per the plea agreement, his other two charges, kidnapping while armed with a deadly weapon and resisting law enforcement, will be dismissed.

Sin was arrested following a shooting in the 4500 block of Bowser Avenue on May 5. According to court documents, witnesses told police that Sin shot 49-year-old Ali Gyi before pointing a gun at his wife, forcing her into a car, and leaving the scene…
