Sheila E. is criticizing organizers of a Southern California jazz festival after a woman died during the outdoor event in temperatures near 100 degrees, saying the concert should have been stopped rather than allowed to continue while the woman’s body remained at the venue.
The Grammy-winning Oakland percussionist, best known for her work with Prince and her 1984 hit “The Glamorous Life,” said she was devastated to learn that Shari Sanders of Altadena died Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Carson Jazz Festival in Los Angeles County.
