ANNAPOLIS, Md. — A new state audit found Maryland correctional employees received $203.3 million in overtime during fiscal year 2025, with more than 1,200 employees exceeding an agency limit of 80 overtime hours in a single pay period thousands of times.
The Maryland Office of Legislative Audits reviewed the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services Regional Operations and found 6,631 instances in which 1,203 employees were paid for working more than 80 overtime hours during a pay period.
