A new regionalization plan for Iowa’s local public health departments set to take effect in 2028 will result in budget cuts, including a potential $150,000 cut for Polk County, said Juliann Van Liew, director of the Polk County Health Department.
Iowa Health and Human Services currently administers several grants that directly fund local health department programs, Van Liew said.
