A newcomer to Austin’s dining scene is shutting its doors after less than one year in business. After a 10-month run in The Plaza at Avery Ranch, Blue Agave Tex-Mex is permanently closed. The restaurant shared the news on social media Wednesday, saying that despite its best efforts, it made the “difficult decision” to stop operations.
“We genuinely valued every person who walked through the door, whether you were a first time guest, a repeat guest, or (our favorite) one of our many regulars,” Blue Agave’s post read.
“Your kind words, feedback, and support created such an amazing place for us to call home. We may not have been open long but we were truly welcomed into this community and are grateful to have had that.”
Blue Agave said it plans to donate the restaurant’s remaining food to a food shelter, asking for recommendations for any local organizations in the area.
