ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Ameren Missouri customers who live in St. Louis City may be eligible for a free program that would improve their homes to reduce energy use.
Ameren Missouri announced that it has partnered with the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis Inc. to encourage customers to apply for the program. The Weatherization Assistance Program offers qualified renters and homeowners home improvements that aim to lower energy costs while improving quality of life in the home.
Improvements include things like air sealing, installing insulation, updating furnaces and more. According to Ameren, one customer who took part in the program said that they can now afford their utility bills, and certain parts of the house that were freezing and closed off in the winters are now warm and habitable again…
