The Carolina Mountain Cheese Fest returns to Oak and Grist Distilling Company in Black Mountain on Sunday, October 11th. The event benefits the WNC Cheese Trail and brings together cheesemakers for tastings, shopping and activities on the distillery grounds.
Participating cheesemakers include Looking Glass Creamery, Blue Goat Dairy, Blue Ridge Mountain Creamery, Round Mountain Creamery, Spinning Spider and Boxcarr Handmade Cheese. Ali Rae, French Broad Creamery, Kenny’s Cheese, Meadow Creek Dairy, Three Sisters Cheese and White Tree Farm are also scheduled to attend.
Visitors can sample and purchase cheese, meet the people who make it and explore cheesemaking through demonstrations and workshops. The festival also features competitions, farm animals and family activities, with wine and specialty food vendors joining the cheese producers…
