JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – Arkansas State football recorded their most points and yards of the 2026 season. But South Alabama made key plays in all 3 phases en route to a 56-49 victory Thursday night.
The Jaguars rushed for 296 yards and scored 21 points off of 3 forced turnovers. Jared Hollins had 3 total TDs, Keenan Phillips rushed for 157 yards with 3 TDs along with a 100 yard kickoff return for a score in the 2nd quarter.
Trey Owens threw for 418 yards, the most by an A-State quarterback in a game since 2021. The Red Wolves had 516 total yards of offense. Owens had 4 passing touchdowns and 1 rushing score, but 2 interceptions. Hunter Summers led the Red Wolves receivers with a career high 9 catches for 145 yards and 2 TD. Jabari Bush and Solomon Baggett also had receiving scores. Timothy Carter tacked a pair of rushing TDs.
