NJ boardwalk expanding at site of nightclub destroyed by Hurricane Sandy

Nearly 300 feet of boardwalk and a covered pavilion are being added where Joey Harrison’s Surf Club once stood at the Jersey Shore.

Nearly 14 years after Superstorm Sandy devastated the Jersey Shore, construction is underway on a new section of boardwalk in Ortley Beach at the site of a popular nightclub destroyed by the storm.

The project will add nearly 300 feet to the existing boardwalk, along with a covered pavilion. The contractor expects both to be completed by early 2027…
