(Des Moines, IA) — A new study finds Des Moines is one of the most optimistic cities in the country about artificial intelligence.
Online platform Blink compared 100 mid-sized cities based on the number of AI-related job postings, recent job growth, technology and AI employment, and local search interest. The study ranked Des Moines 11th overall, due to a growing workforce and a clear local interest in how AI will be used at work.
The study finds employment grew 0.8% in Des Moines between May of 2025 and May of this year while the city saw 1,300 AI-related searches. The study also found technology and AI employment in Des Moines are 1.26 times the national average, with AI roles accounting for 0.36% of local job postings…
