Group opposes $615 million Wichita school bond issue

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Voters in the Wichita school district will decide on a $615 million bond issue to improve aging school facilities.

A group opposed to the bond, Improve Learning First, says USD 259 should improve education across the district before making building improvements.

“We’re very concerned as citizens of Wichita, Kansas, that spending more money on buildings doesn’t teach kids. If we’re going to spend that kind of money we expect results,” the group said.
