City Councilors Olivia Clark and Eric Zimmerman will join Downtown Portland Clean & Safe on Friday, October 9th to celebrate the installation of a disco ball by artist Ivan McLean at downtown’s newest public gathering place, Darcelle XV Plaza.
The plaza will host a Disco Party from 4-6pm with entertainment from Rose City Roller Disco Party, Poison Waters and Darcelle XV Showplace, and DJ Leo. The councilors, who supported the disco ball installation with funds from their respective office budgets, will make remarks between 4:45 and 5:15pm.
“My district includes downtown, which is not only the economic engine for the City of Portland but the entire state. So it was vital for my office to make strategic investments in proven strategies that increase foot traffic, particularly cultural activations,” Councilor Clark says. “It’s been a joy to see Darcelle XV Plaza drawing crowds of all ages since it opened in June.”…
