CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A long-awaited trail connection between Alton Park and downtown Chattanooga is now open, marking a major step in a decadeslong effort to link South Chattanooga neighborhoods with the Tennessee Riverwalk and other city resources.
The city of Chattanooga and the Trust for Public Land say the Alton Park Connector is designed to expand access to schools, jobs and other resources that some neighborhoods have not had easy access to.
