Da Funnel Cake Factory is closing after one year in Columbus due to ongoing air-conditioning problems, owner Melita Jefferson told the Ledger-Enquirer.
Much of the money she has made this past year has had to be reinvested into the building at 1128 Fort Benning Road to get the AC fixed, Jefferson said.
“I’ve been told by several people it needs to be completely replaced — which is about $30,000,” she said.
The community has helped support her business and keep the doors open, Jefferson said. Several people have volunteered to fix the system so it could cool either the front or back of the building, she said…
