Julian Sayin and the Ohio State Buckeyes are coming off a strong 31-14 road win over the No. 14 Iowa Hawkeyes at Kinnick Stadium last Saturday. Head coach Ryan Day split the workload between running backs Ja’Kobi Jackson and Bo Jackson, with Ja’Kobi tallying 14 carries for 72 yards and a touchdown, while Bo amassed 70 yards on 16 carries.
Quarterback Sayin went 20-for-27 in the game, throwing for 324 yards and three touchdowns. Star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith was Sayin’s top target. Smith ended the game with 11 catches for 206 yards and two receiving touchdowns, all game highs. The 6-foot-4 wide receiver became the school’s all-time leader in career receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns in the matchup.
On the season, the 6-foot-1 quarterback has completed 72.5% of his passes, to go along with 13 touchdowns and one interception. The 21-year-old is also fourth in the nation with 1,530 passing yards and ranks first with a 92.1 QBR.
