The Zanotto’s Family Markets will host a 50th anniversary celebration Saturday, Oct. 10, with samples, sales, music and children’s activities for the generations of shoppers that have made this multi-generation business a success.
Festivities will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the San Jose grocery group’s Rose Garden store on Naglee Avenue, where it all began in 1976. The two other stores are in Willow Glen and in Sunnyvale.
According to the family history, founders Andrea and Rosa Zanotto left Italy after World War II with their five children and settled temporarily in Venezuela while awaiting U.S. immigration papers.
