Officials and docents of the Historic Woodlawn Cemetery and Arboretum used its 150th Anniversary celebration Thursday to call on the community to return the venue to its original glory as a public gathering place.
“At the Woodlawn Cemetery, 80,000 Toledoans are interred,” said Jay Secor, president of the Historic Woodlawn Foundation. “So, for that reason, it’s a good thing to celebrate the anniversary as we remember those who came before us. We at Woodlawn are a bit of remaking ourselves in that we are trying to include more of the public in what goes on at Woodlawn.”…
